This was a really good shoot!! ❤ I was originally just meant to be helping but Delia, who was the main photographer said i should bring my gear along so i ended up taking photos anyway ❤
We started off in the city and shot at a restaurant called iku sushi (where we bought curry udonnnnn ;D ) I didn’t take any photos here but after that we headed to The area we shot Macross/Noiz/Pokemon in….. (again; really need to find new locations omg ;A;;;…. )
While we were walking we got the most accurate insult shouted at us 8′) GO BACK TO THE COMIC BOOK STORE! And rather than being insulted it was like.. GOOD JOB RANDOM PERSON FOR KNOWING WHAT WE WERE DOING LOL…
So we watched Min and Jill eat Udon for a while <333 (btw its really hard to do eating shots with noodles omg… like half the photos i had looked like they were vomiting into their bowls.. T________T )
After that we took some shots on some stairs that had some really nice lights in the background ❤
Then after that we started to head to the other location (alleyway yayyyyy) because it was starting to get dark.

I’m so glad Selby and Nimue were helping ;A; otherwise these shots would have been impossible, e.g. here jill’s face is lit by one of our iPhones that was being held *w*

We did have problems before the shoot with wrong gear etc, but it worked out all good in the end (using iphones ❤ ) ;D And this actually worked reaaaaaaaaaaally well!!! >D (also being a human tripod is really painful, not at the time, but the next day.. NOTE TO SELF USE TRIPOD NOW YOU HAVE ONE )

So this shoot occurred on the Sunday of Perth Oz comic-con, except i didn’t actually want to go to the con; I just went so i could do a shoot with these guys and hang out with some of my friends ❤
Firstly i started off with Sharlie outside of PCEC while Millie was still in the convention doing things. We “borrowed” a milk crate that we saw lying around and took some photos ❤
Later Millie joined us and we headed over to the area where we shot macross, noiz etc.. (getting a bit overused now ): will have to find a new place to shoot with nice buildings!)

We were approached by a security guard as usual, but luckily he didn’t kick us out but didn’t want us to hang around too long, hence we didn’t shoot for a really long time (:

Omgggg this day was way too hot for shooting idk what we were thinking x__x;;
We started off at the perth arena, but since we didn’t start shooting till mid afternoon the sun was very strong (damn australia ;A;)
This made the lighting quite terrible and harsh when not in the shade, so note for future reference to try doing shoots earlier, especially in the summer!
While we were at the arena Sab and i split up with us taking one coser with us, I took Jill and she took Min (:

I wish i could’ve got a pair shot on this ledge ;A;;;; but the sprinklers turned on when i was still shooting with min T__T;;;;;; And after it was too slippery and didn’t want to risk either of them slipping off and hurting themselves D8

Last time i did a pair shoot with these two i failed to get a nice shot of Min solo that she was happy with, hence this time i really tried to make sure i had nice solos of both of them! Although this failed a bit and the shoot ended up a bit one-sided (this is something i really need to work on for shoots that have more than one person, cuz it’s not fair obviously ;A; ) Also working on photos with 2+ ppl in them, and having ALL of their faces in focus :c

We started off by having lunch at Nao in the city, and had to wait for quite a while to even get in because there was sooooo many ppl *-** on a sunday!
After having yummy takoyaki and ramen we headed to the bunny area for Min to get changed (as walking around in the costume caught enough attention, let alone eating lunch in it;;) and the bathrooms were locked ): So we headed to Raine square bathrooms….In which it was really really cramped and there was a screaming child mucking around in the bathroom. So in the end we headed off to where we shot macross and used the bathroom there 8) which was awesome because it had a massive mirror + there were very little people! (although one person tried to walk in and thought it was the male bathroom because of min ;;;)
So to start off re-used the area we shot macross frontier, but we shot in different parts! (this area is srsly massive omg all of the useable parts, you wouldn’t even know you were in the same place @-@)
Yet again, we were approached by security guards but it was all good! They were really nice and just were curious to what we were doing / made sure we weren’t taking photos of buildings ;u;;;;
The only bad thing about it was that the area was a MASSIVE WIND TUNNEL! Like, Min’s pompoms and tie and everything where flying around in the wind @_@ and i had to bobby pin my hair down so i could see in my camera!
After we finished shooting there, we went to go to Raine square to shoot with the massive panes of glass that would’ve suited Noiz really well….but sadly the security guards came up to us (who ofc were nice as usual) and told us that you can’t shoot there / in Raine square….Which sucks!! But now its like okay avoid Raine square cuz yeah.. no point if cannot use!
We then walked to an alleyway with lots of graffiti, which looked really nice! / we had planned to use it originally! It had a really cool stairs section / with the metal bar that we used!
Sadly after about 10 mins, when we were about to start the blood part of the shoot;; Some guy walked through the alleyway and looked really suspicious; he walked past us and started going through some garbage around the corner… >_> I swear we have the worst luck on shoots srsly like wtf is with randoms interrupting itt ahhhsdkfjnkdsjfnsdkfjn.
Anyway, we decided to run away after that, because that guy was seriously like.. do not want;
So we headed off to where I shot the second half of the Ren shoot with Min to do the blood part!
This part was really fun!! I left the covering Min in blood part to Jill, because i didn’t really want to get stained / didn’t want it to get on my camera D: But literally it was like not enough blood, /cover with heaps more, still not enough / cover with more … Hmmm that’s enough xD We used Arterial blood but we had prepared some candy blood and other things!
The only problem doing it in an alleyway is that we were scaring the crap out of random people who were walking past, so it’d be like /wave hands around/ it’s just makeup!!! Maaaaakeee uppppppp! D8 And then they’d quickly hurry away lolzzz;;
After cleaning up we went to utopia for dinner ❤ And then we went home, and i started to sort through the photos (:

We did run into security guards here, but they were very nice! I was really surprised (: We were allowed to shoot as long as we didn’t directly take photos of the buildings, which is good because it was such a pretty area, especially at night when the lights turned onnn *-*****

In hindsight, i do wish we had started a little bit earlier so we had more time with sunlight, but in the end it wasn’t too bad (: Just as it got a bit dark, the photos are a bit grainier;
Before the shoot, i did a lottttt of storyboarding! (In the early hours of the morning @_@ ) It was fun experimenting and thinking up poses xDD If only i could properly draw what i was imagining OTL ;;; …
But we came up with the idea of Alto and Ranka meeting up, Alto being late (of course) and him congratulating her for something with flowers 8′))

First solo shoot! 8)) *achievement unlocked* and… almost everything went wrong lol D:
Overall the shoot was fun, albeit slightly traumatizing, though i have learnt heaps from this!

The beginning of the shoot was very successful! we went to a very pretty area and the photos were looking nice!

But not long after we started, a guy came up behind us, and started going through our bags! When we realised he had ran off with mine ;u; .. I don’t really remember what i was thinking about when that happened because my first instinct was to run after him. In hindsight, this could have been really really dangerous, but of course i wasn’t thinking that at the time x_x After running down the street screaming after the guy, some guys in suits who were having coffee at a cafe a bit further on down got up, chased the guy across a major road and one decked him, the other got my bag back, with everything in it! (MY HEROES 8D)
Sadly, after running for quite a while after this guy my asthma flared up really badly, so in order to breathe i had to run away from the lovely people who were asking me if i was okay and if i wanted to call the police (which tbh, is not something i really wanted to do in the middle of a shoot, nor could i even remember what the guy looked like- i presume this is from being in shock or something..). Much thanks to whoever that person was who returned my lens hood tho, that was appreciated 8′)!
After crawling back to Min who stayed where we were shooting, we went to the chemist and bought some Ventolin After a looong while, my lungs recovered a bit, and… we decided to continue!
The rest of the shoot was quite fun, which included lots of throwing paper off a ledge to imitate the scenes in the anime xD
(which also included some giving up when the paper really just wanted to fly into Min’s face rather than anywhere else);
After that, We headed over to the area we shot Barnaby for Min to costume change.
We quickly realised that the security guard was not-so approving of us shooting there, and moved on to another location (:

Also, there were people from some photography studio, who after we left managed to stalk us part-way across the city and force us to move along from this area with some really annoying kids on skateboards >8(
Overall, i learnt quite a bit, especially, always, always have helpers, and always be aware of where your things are!

Tiger and Bunny: Barnaby Brooks Jr Photoshoot
Wow, this was a while ago!! 🙂 This was my first shoot with Min! Wilson invited me; and I’d never been on a night / early evening shoot before so this was really fun and new! It was also really nice to be able to practice using Wilson‘s reflector!

We shot in the city, sadly now that this place is more popular / the shops have opened up it’s really hard to use now, especially because the security guards are really suspicious / don’t really approve of you taking photos in there ): But it was a really nice area to use when we did!
As always we had lots of fun during the shoot! (: Here is a tiny glimpse of what it looks like behind the camera ;D
To take the last photo in the above set i had to sit on the rail in the first photo below on the left, it was soooo uncomfortable ;u;;; but definitely worth it for the photo i got in the end! c:
